Jack D Fry, Ph.D.

Jack D. Fry, Ph.D., is a professor in the Department of Horticulture, Forestry and Recreation Resources at Kansas State University. Fry obtained his bachelors in horticulture at K-State, masters in agronomy at the University of Maryland and Ph.D. at Colorado State. He worked was an assistant professor in the Department of Horticulture at Louisiana State University prior to coming to K-State. Fry teaches courses in turfgrass culture, and golf course and sports turf operations. His research has been focused on turfgrass water conservation, integrated pest management and establishment. Fry has served industry associations in numerous capacities, including as the 2004 chair of division C-5 (Turfgrass Science) of the Crop Science Society of America and as a member of the GCSAA Education Committee and the United States Golf Association Turf and Environmental Research Committee.
