Support your alma mater or favorite turf program in the Tweet Rally!
Once again John Deere will be hosting a Tweet Rally in conjunction with the 2018 Turf Bowl. As in past years, the turf program generating the most tweets containing correct answers to the questions will be crowned the winner of the 2018 Collegiate Spirit Award at the Closing Celebration and collect $1,000 for their school’s turf club.
How it will work: Starting on January 16, 2018, John Deere will tweet out a series of questions related to golf course management from @JohnDeere. In total, three questions will be asked. See below for the exact dates the questions will be published. The Tweet Rally will close on February 6, 2018, with no more tweets accepted after that date.
Students, faculty, alumni and other supporters should tweet back the correct answer and include a hash tag for your school. Only correct answers will be counted.
You do not need to register a hashtag with GCSAA or John Deere in advance. But to aid the John Deere team in identifying who the tweet should count for, please make your school hashtag very clear. For example, a good hashtag would be #baldwinuniversityturf. An example of a bad hashtag would be #BUturf because there could be other schools with the initials BU, or #wildcatturf because there are several schools with wildcat as a mascot. In addition to the school hashtag, we ask that you also include the hashtags #TurfBowl18 and #GIS18.
To summarize, your responding tweet should look something like this: correct answer to the question #baldwinuniversityturf #TurfBowl18 #GIS18
1. The Turf Bowl team that receives the most tweets containing the correct answers will be awarded the 2018 Collegiate Spirit Award and $1,000.00 from John Deere at the GIS Closing Ceremony on Thursday, February 8, 2018.
2. Tweets must include the correct answers, #TurfBowl18, #GIS18, and your school’s hashtag.
3. Applicable tweets will be accepted from January 16, 2018 to February 6, 2018 at 11:59 pm.
4. GCSAA and John Deere reserve the right to not count tweets/posts or cancel this campaign at any time without notice.
