Don’t miss the 2020 Golf Industry Show Opening Session! Lauren Thompson, currently host for Golf Channel’s “Morning Drive” and NBC’s “The Champion Within,” will be back to host this year’s event.

President Rafael Barajas, CGCS will lead a celebration of another successful year for GCSAA and its members. Industry leaders will be honored with the presentation of GCSAA’s highest awards including the President’s Award for Environmental Stewardship, Colonel John Morley Distinguished Service Award, and the Old Tom Morris Award. The 2019 Board of Directors and Class of 2019 newly certified superintendents will also be recognized.

Trade Show

With hundreds of exhibitors spanning thousands of square feet of exhibit space, the GIS trade show gives superintendents, owners, technicians and other golf facility professionals the opportunity to network and discuss the latest products and services in turf and facility care. The show floor also includes special features such as Inside the Shop, presentations from GCSAA TV, free education on the show floor, the New Product Showcase and the GIS Silent Auction.

The CGCS professional designation is widely recognized in the golf industry as the highest level of achievement that golf course managers can achieve. Certified superintendents, please schedule this time to join your peers for recognition of your professionalism, ongoing pursuit of continuing education and your dedication to the golf industry. A festive lunch will follow a short program acknowledging the newly certified Class of 2019, with special recognition celebrating the 25- and 40-year classes.

First Green Demonstration

Trade Show Floor: Booth #5617 – South Concourse

First Green is GCSAA's STEM education outreach program. It pairs golf courses with local schools for a fun filled field trip packed with science, technology, engineering and math lessons viewed through the lens of golf. Attend one of the demonstration events on the trade show floor to see the lesson plans in action. If you are traveling with your children to Orlando, bring them with you to join in on the fun! (Children will need to have a trade show pass to get to the demonstration.)

Join GCSAA Government Affairs staff to get the meat and potatoes of advocacy. Great for newbies and seasoned ambassadors alike, this session conveniently located on the trade show floor, will cover how to secure meetings with members of Congress, what to say and how to say it, and how to follow up for future successful engagements. Special guests joining the conversation will be 2019 Grassroots Ambassador Leadership Award winners who will lend their insight into how they've effectively built relationships with Congressional offices in their states.

All Turf Bowl participants are encouraged to attend this event to kick off the annual GCSAA Collegiate Turf Bowl Competition, presented in partnership with John Deere Golf. Teams will have the opportunity to register for the exam. Teams will sign up to participate in the Turf Bowl exam starting at 4:30 p.m. prior to the start of the reception at 5:30 p.m. All team members must be present to register and take a team photo. If your team places in the top 10, this photo will be displayed at the Closing Celebration. Please dress accordingly. A networking reception will be provided for teams, advisors and superintendent mentors.
