Gregory D. Brandriet, CGCS

Greg D. Brandriet, CGCS, has been the superintendent for 11 years at Elkhorn Ridge Golf Club in Spearfish, SD, a top-5-rated 18-hole course in the beautiful Black Hills. A South Dakota native, he defected to North Dakota State to earn a bachelors in Horticulture and ran his own landscaping company before landing a dream job in golf. In 2012, Brandriet was named “9-hole Superintendent of the Year” by the SDGCSA, and currently serves on the board of directors for his chapter. He is also active in the national chapter level as a two-term GCSAA Grassroots Ambassador and was named one of four “Grassroots Ambassador Leadership Award” winners in 2018.

His passion for golf revolves around conscious leadership, environmental stewardship and perfecting his short game. Outside of golf, Brandriet spends most of his time with his wife and two effervescent boys (ages 4 & 7) romping around the Black Hills. He also plays music in bars on weekends, keeping his rock star dream alive. This is his first year speaking AND moderating at the GIS, and he couldn’t be more thrilled to share the lineup with such talented individuals and share his story with this great organization!
