Elliott Dowling is an agronomist in the USGA Green Section’s Northeast Region. He earned a bachelors in horticulture with an emphasis in turfgrass management from Iowa State University, and masters in turfgrass management from Penn State University. Dowling now works out of the USGA Glen Mills, Pa., office with David Oatis, helping golf facilities maintain better playing conditions through the USGA Course Consulting Service on-site visits, educational outreach and research throughout the five-state region. Before joining the USGA, Dowling was golf course superintendent at Cress Creek Country Club in Naperville, Ill. He also was the superintendent at the Ivanhoe (Ill.) Club and an assistant superintendent at Oakland Hills Country Club in Bloomfield Hills, Mich.
