Better Together: Building a Community through Golf
This presentation will focus on communications: Communications with the general managers and staff, the membership and golfers, and almost most importantly with the non-golfing public. The speaker and panelists will share their experiences from collaboration with the PGA TOUR, University Colleges, Ministry of Education, and various outreach events hosted by superintendents, on how to open all channels of communications to tell the story that needs to be told, how to relate these stories to the Best Management Strategies that the attendees implement on their courses, and how through these, superintendents and the general public can all grow together, along with the game of golf.
Participants will walk away with the skills to:
- Identify social-communication channels that can benefit their golf course’s success
- Utilize various communication tools to engage communities, golfers/and non-golfers to promote their courses
- Apply effective communication and listening efforts to create a high performing team of employees
