Ralph Kepple, CGCS, has been the Golf Course Superintendent at East Lake Golf Club for over 25 years, having started his tenure on February 1, 1992. While at East Lake, he participated in hosting 17 Tour Championships (11 FedEx Cup Finals), the 2001 USGA Amateur Championship, the 2002 Southern Amateur, the 1997 Western Junior Amateur and several USGA Sectional US Open Qualifiers. In 2013, Kepple was selected by the Georgia Golf Course Superintendents Association as the Superintendent of The Year. He serves on the Board of Trustees of the Georgia Golf Environmental Foundation and on the Georgia Golf Course Superintendents Association Education Committee. His position at East Lake Golf Club was his first and hopefully only Golf Course Superintendent position after working as an Assistant Superintendent for 7 ½ years prior to that at Lancaster CC in Lancaster, Ohio and at Settindown Creek Golf Club (now Ansley Golf Club – Settindown Creek) in Roswell, GA.
Kepple is a 1984 graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture, majoring in Agronomy. He was born and raised in Mt. Vernon, Ohio and moved to the Atlanta, GA area in 1990.
