Pat Finlen, CGCS and GCSAA past president, is the general manager at The Olympic Club in San Francisco. He earned is bachelors in business administration at Rockhurst College in Kansas City, Mo. Finlen first became a superintendent in 1984 in Kansas City then in Virginia Beach, Va., moving to the director of golf course maintenance at Bayonet & Black Horse in Seaside, Calif. His employment at The Olympic Club began as the director of golf maintenance operations with subsequent promotions to his present position. Finlen has been a certified superintendent since 1989. He is a past president not only of GCSAA, but also of the California Golf Course Superintendents Association, The Golf Course Superintendents Association of Northern California, and The Heart of America Golf Course Superintendents Association.
