Kevin Banks has been the Golf Course Superintendent at Vineyard Golf Club since April of 2016. Banks graduated from the Stockbridge School of Agriculture in 2006 with an Associate’s degree in Turfgrass Management. From there he transferred into the UMass Amherst plant and soil science program and received a Bachelor’s degree in Turfgrass Management in 2008 with a minor in Management. After graduation, he pursued an Assistant in Training position at Huntington Crescent Club in Long Island. That fall, he accepted the 2nd Assistant Superintendent job at Framingham Country Club in MA and served that role for 3 seasons. In 2011, he accepted the Senior Assistant Superintendent position at Nantucket Golf Club in MA. It was during those times as Senior Assistant that he relied heavily on professionalism and enjoyed every aspect of mentoring his employees. He has spoken with the UMass Amherst Turf Club on career advancement and it is one of his true passions.
