Cale Bigelow, Ph.D., is a professor of agronomy-turfgrass science at Purdue University. He holds degrees from Virginia Tech and North Carolina State University. He is actively involved in undergraduate instruction, and his applied research interests include sustainable and reduced input turfgrass systems, evaluation of turf species and cultivar selection for golf courses, putting green management, and soil and turfgrass nutritional issues. He is a recent inductee to the Purdue University Teaching Academy.
In addition to participation in many state and regional turfgrass conferences around the country, he has lectured on turfgrass management in Japan, Norway and the Czech Republic. He has been a GCSAA faculty member since 2004, and he enjoys outdoor activities (like golf!), watching and participating in sporting events and spending time with his wife and two children.
