The development and testing of new zoysiagrass hybrids for golf greens, tee boxes, fairways and roughs stem largely from the collaborative efforts between Bladerunner Farms and the turfgrass breeding program at the University of Georgia, spearheaded by Brian Schwartz, Ph.D.
An associate professor of turfgrass breeding and management at UGA’s Tifton Campus, Schwartz earned his Ph.D. in plant breeding from the University of Florida. His M.S. and B.S. are from Texas A&M University.
Schwartz is an active member of the Crop Science Society of America, American Society of Agronomy, United States Golf Association, and the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America.
