Top 10 tools for success

Here are 10 things every new exhibitor must know before exhibiting at the Golf Industry Show. Please do not hesitate to contact your GCSAA, NGCOA or CMAA account manager with any questions.

1. Be on the lookout for your Exhibitor Service Kit. This CD contains all of the most important information regarding exhibiting at the show. Service Kits will be mailed in October.

2. All exhibitors are required to furnish their entire display with carpet or some other type of floor covering. You may order carpeting from Freeman (forms are provided in the Exhibitor Service Kit), or you may bring your own carpet or floor covering.

3. Additional furnishings, such as display tables, chairs, wastebaskets, etc. can also be ordered from Freeman, if necessary. All forms can be found in your Exhibitor Service Kit.

4. Final payment on your booth space is due not later than Oct. 31, 2008. You will receive an invoice mid-September, if you have contracted prior to Oct. 31.

5. Your booth must be in compliance with all display guidelines for your specific booth type – please refer to the Rules and Regulations section of your Exhibitor Service Kit.

6. Exhibitors transporting large equipment via a truck service must check in at the marshalling yard. There, you will be issued a number. When your number is announced, please proceed to the appropriate loading dock. The marshalling yard will need the following information from you:

  • Bill of lading
  • Company name
  • Booth number

7. You may ship goods and display materials to the Freeman warehouse, or directly to the Convention Center. It is very important to label each container with your company name and booth number. More information, as well as mailing labels, are included in your Exhibitor Service Kit.

8. Empty containers cannot be stored at your booth. Freeman will pick up and store any empty containers for you, and return them after the close of the show.

9. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to make arrangements for the shipment of goods and materials from the Convention Center following the show. Freeman can help you.

10. Utility services are available through the convention center. Refer to your Exhibitor Service Kit for ordering information.
