Ad material specifiations
- Ads may be uploaded to GCSAA’s FTP site. Instructions
are available on how to FTP your files, however, a press-ready
proof is required to ensure that all the elements are in place
to produce your ad to the highest industry standards.
Please do not e-mail your ad. E-mail files often present problems
in transferring data across platforms.
- Mail your CD, JAZ or ZIP disk, along with a SWOP-certified proof

- Art elements should be at least 300 dpi at the desired print
size and originate in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator or Macromedia
Freehand.
- Layout must be in Quark or Adobe PageMaker.
- Fonts need to be Type 1 Adobe Fonts. True Type Fonts cannot
be used.
- All color should be CMYK.
- Proofs must be supplied for all ad materials. Without an accurate
color proof, the publisher cannot be held responsible for the
outcome of the color.
- Unacceptable programs include, but are not limited too, Corel
Draw, Microsoft Publisher, Microsoft Word and Power Point.
- Publisher cannot be held responsible for problems on press caused
by improperly distilled PDF files.
- PC Files can usually be accepted if they meet all the above
requirements but are handled on a case-by-case basis and cannot
be guaranteed.
- Deviation from these standard guidelines may require additional
time or cost, and/or sacrifice reproduction predictability.
