John Cunningham, CGCS, received his degree in Agronomy from Valencia College in Orlando, Florida, and has been a Certified Golf Course Superintendent since 2003. Cunningham spent the first 10-plus years of his career in Florida, most notably at Black Diamond Ranch a 45-hole, top-100 golf facility. He then joined the Four Seasons Resort and Club in Dallas, Texas, where he was responsible for the complete renovation and rebranding of the TPC at Las Colinas golf course, which was the host course of the AT&T Byron Nelson Championship.
Cunningham then accepted the position as Assistant General Manager/Director of Agronomy at Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis, Mo. Cunningham joined Bellerive and helped prepare the Club to host the 2013 Senior PGA Championship and completed a $2.3 million renovation as Bellerive was the host course of the100th PGA Championship in August of 2018.
John is currently the General Manager at Aronimink Golf Club, a Top 100 Platinum Club in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania. Aronimink was the host of the 2018 BMW Championship and is poised to host the 2020 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship and the 2027 PGA Championship. John is currently pursuing his Certified Club Manager distinction with the Club Managers Association of America.
