Doug Soldat is a Wisconsin native and a professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the Department of Soil Science. His research and extension programming focuses on nutrient and irrigation management of turfgrass. He earned a B.S. and M.S from the University of Wisconsin and a Ph.D. from Cornell University. He advises turfgrass students and teaches Introduction to Soil Science and Turfgrass Nutrient and Water Management at the University of Wisconsin. His current research is investigating how grasses mine potassium from minerals in soils. He has been a GCSAA member since 2003, and been a GCSAA seminar instructor since 2014. Soldat is also a presenter for GCSAA webinars.
