Security guidelines
Golf Industry
Show Management will provide general security during the published
move-in and move-out hours, trade show hours and all hours that
the show is closed during show days. However, each exhibitor will
be responsible for his/her exhibit at all times.
GCSAA, NGCOA, the convention center, and the official
convention general service contractor, shall not be liable for any
loss, damage or displacement of any exhibitor's property due to
any cause. Exhibitors are cautioned that small portable articles
of value should be properly secured or removed for safe keeping
after exhibit hours or whenever the booth is unattended.
Security procedures
The following
steps have been taken to guard against theft:
- Security
guards will monitor badges to prevent early admittance or admittance
of unauthorized persons to the exhibit hall.
- All persons
in the exhibit halls must wear a badge. This includes move-in,
show operating hours and move-out. Exhibitors are responsible
for their workers and staff being assigned badges. No business
cards can be inserted in badge holders.
- Security
guards will 'sweep' the aisles after the daily hall closing to
clear all visitors and personnel.
- Any theft
or damage must be reported to security immediately.
Additional recommendations
Guard service
is provided to protect your equipment. However, it is up to
you to exercise prudent judgement and safeguard your personal property
and belongings. Remove anything of value that can be carried away.
You can take
additional steps that will limit the chances of loss:
- Never leave
your exhibit unstaffed even for a short time during show hours.
- Hire a guard.
You may order security staff by completing the security order
form.
- Store it
-- The show decorator will often have available secure cages to
store your valuable items. If this secure area is available to
you, we strongly suggest that you utilize it.
- Remove it
-- Pertinent component parts should be removed from displays or
floor models when not being used for demonstrations. Never leave
a prototype unprotected.
- Cover it
up -- Drape your product with a flameproof cover. This cover will
make it more difficult to 'snatch and grab' your product. Never
leave purses, briefcases or other valuables under draped tables
or behind your booth drape.
- Pack all
exhibit products as soon as tear-down begins. This is the usual
timeframe for thefts.
- Report it
-- If you should experience a loss, please report it to the convention center security office immediately. A representative
will respond and document the circumstances surrounding the occurrence.
REMEMBER: Show security is here to serve, but security starts with you.
