The Golf Industry Show Silent Auction

The 2008 Silent Auction enjoys another success!

The 2008 Silent Auction was once again an enormous success, with more than 350 participants registering bids. Preliminary results indicate that The Environmental Institute for Golf received more than $133,400 in bids from the 114 items donated. This includes $12,100 generated from the inaugural live auction.

As in past years, a random drawing of all registered bidders was conducted to award complimentary registration, education and hotel accommodations in New Orleans for the 2009 GCSAA Education Conference and Golf Industry Show. This year’s winner was Reuben Wedgeworth, Class A golf course superintendent at Timberton Golf Club in Hattiesburg, Miss. Congratulations to The Institute for another outstanding year!

The Environmental Institute for Golf, the National Golf Course Owners Association Foundation, The American Society of Golf Course Architects, The Club Foundation and The Golf Course Builders Association of America Foundation would like to thank all of the companies that donated products and services to the silent auction and to the individuals who placed bids.

Your support is greatly appreciated!

For questions concerning the auction, contact The Environmental Institute for Golf at 800-472-7878, ext. 3696.

Proceeds support environmental stewardship programs, including research and education to strengthen the compatibility of the game of golf with our natural environment - player development programs - grants and scholarships to advance the club management industry - and support providing young people the opportunity to learn golf and the life values the game of golf represents.
